About Me
Christina Raddatz
Community Leader
Born and raised in the Valley, Christina is a certified birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator. She is the owner operator of a doula agency in her area and has served many families over the past 6 years. She is also trained as a trauma informed professional, completed suicide intervention training, and has been guest speaker at various events in her community such as “Take back the night” marches, and prenatal education groups.
Gender based violence is a rapidly growing concern for many rural communities. After joining the table with a county wide ending violence organization during the time of a inquest for the murders of three local women, Chrissy quickly made connections with front line workers and learned the barriers that rural women face when it comes to getting support. From there, she created a workshop with the Women's Sexual Assault Center of Renfrew County aimed for people who have experienced abuse and are now pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
She found a real passion for creating more awareness, education, and resources surrounding this for the community. She is actively volunteering with the center and building bridges between these worlds to get services to those hard to reach places in a safe manner. She has a wonderful vision and plan for her community and has been working hard doing the groundwork to initiate this project.
