Peggy Brekveld
Leadership Programs Manager, ROI
Peggy Brekveld is a longtime advocate for Ontario agriculture and rural communities. Currently the Leadership Programs Manager at Rural Ontario Institute, Peggy speaks from a place of experience as she facilitates the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program (AALP). She has led several farming, advocacy and social enterprise organizations. Peggy’s current community roles include Chair of Agricultural Adaptation Council, chair of her local Committee of Adjustment and a member of the Pennock Village board. Past roles include the President of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, chair of the Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council, and executive director of The Gathering Place.
She was honoured with the Influential Women in Canadian Agriculture award in its inaugural year, and the Richard Lichty Memorial Award during her time in AALP Class 12.
Peggy’s favourite quote is “Not all who wander are lost…” reflecting her love for walking, her faith journey, and her positive spirit.
